Principal Psychologist/phd Candidate, Brave Psychology

Alysha is a registered psychologist with over a decade of experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults in the Illawarra and south coast. Alysha is one of the Principal Psychologists at Brave Psychology, a small private practice in Wollongong focusing on delivering trauma-informed care to a wide range of client presentations, as well as committed to enhancing the profession of psychology by providing high quality reflective supervision and employment to provisional psychologists.

Alysha works with individuals across a variety of presentations including neurodevelopmental divergence (including but not limited to Autism and ADHD), emotional and behavioural dysregulation, childhood trauma, trauma, anxiety, depression, perinatal psychology and parenting support. Alysha has a particular passion for working with parents, particularly new parents in the perinatal period. Alysha is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, conducting research about birth trauma and the impact on early parenting. Alysha’s first phase of her PhD has focused on addressing a gap in the Australian perinatal mental health scape, by validated a measure of childbirth-related PTSD for use within Australian populations.
