Mandy holds an Honours degree in Psychology and has undergone training in Schema Therapy; Mental Health Interventions for Substance Abuse; and EMDR for trauma. She also holds a Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis CBT-FPS. She is registered with AHPRA and State Insurance Regulation Authority.
Mandy has experience working with a diverse range of clients from adolescents to older adults. She firmly believes in collaborating with her clients from the outset. “I listen and I guide, but it is the client who decides what to take on board and when to grow”. She creatively combines evidence-based techniques from various modalities including Schema, ACT, CBT, EMDR – tailored for her client’s specific needs. Her presentation style – whether to an audience of one, or a group – is frequently flavoured with artistry and theatrics that seep in from her past as an amateur vocal performer.
Mandy brings to her work a lived experience as a migrant, raising a blended culture family, in a low SES environment. Her experiences in her country of origin, previous workplaces; and personal life have imbued her with a passion to tackle unresolved trauma and break the cycle of intergenerational harm.
With a sound understanding of the therapeutic alliance, Mandy provides a warm, safe space for her clients – from the very start to the very end of their healing journey.
