Elizabeth Bancroft, MPsych (Couns), MAPS, MAAPI, EMDRAA Accredited Practitioner
Elizabeth (Liz) Bancroft is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist with over 14 years of experience with a special interest in trauma, neurodivergence, and reproductive mental health. As the founder of Bancroft Psychology and creator of Hope Affirm Thrive—an online group program for neurodivergent women undergoing infertility treatments—Liz combines clinical with personal lived experience to provide innovative, evidence-based support.
Accredited in EMDR, certified in Resource Therapy, Liz has worked extensively in public health, private practice, and forensic settings, developing a nuanced understanding of trauma and its impact on psychological resilience. Her additional training with the Fertility Society of Australia informs her work in fertility-related distress, where she advocates for neuroaffirming and trauma-informed approaches to care.
As a late-diagnosed autistic woman who has personally navigated the complexities of infertility treatments, Liz brings a unique dual perspective—both as a clinician and as someone who has firsthand experience of the challenges neurodivergent individuals face in assisted reproduction. Her work challenges the one-size-fits-all approach to fertility support, highlighting the often-overlooked barriers that neurodivergent individuals encounter in medical settings.
Liz is passionate about bridging the gap between research and real-world application to improve mental health outcomes for those navigating infertility, trauma, and neurodivergence.
